RESUMO

Circadian rhythms were investigated in the levels of ACTH, FSH, LH, hydrocortisone, testosterone, progesterone and estradiol in 12 healthy subjects against 32 patients suffering from infiltrative lung tuberculosis. It was found out that healthy subjects have fluctuations in the above hormones which come to an acrophase in morning hours (at 7-8 a.m.), have high mean values, stable time and amplitude structure. In contrast, tuberculosis patients exhibited impaired circadian cycle of the hormones with acrophase in day and evening hours (16-20 p.m.), reduced mean levels and amplitude in fluctuation, non-coincidence in time. The derangement in the rhythm was more distinct in disseminated tuberculosis with intoxication symptoms.

RESUMO

The results of mass prophylactic screening of the population for tuberculosis in the south of the Aral sea costal region have been generalized with consideration of its geographic and sanitary--epidemiologic conditions. A mixed model of comprehensive prophylactic screenings was used for the first time with integration, for the first time, of the traditional (team) and field-work methods. The obtained results proved the efficiency of this approach: during one year a total of 1,217,400 subjects or 80% of the relevant population were involved in the prophylactic screening for the first time in one region. As a result, the epidemiologic situation related to tuberculosis was revealed and a complex of the therapeutic and health-improvement measures accomplished. The proposed measures have been tested and made the basis of a section in a complex program "Health of the population of the Aral sea costal region up to the 2000th year" which is recently being introduced in other regions of the republic.

RESUMO

Data are given on the study of functional correlations of the pairs of organs (kidneys-liver and kidneys-lungs) that participate in provision of the functional system of secretion. The correlation of these pairs of organs contribution to the total secretion of metabolites as renal insufficiency grows is characterized by the S-shaped dependence, i.e. by a compensatory increase of the conjoined functions at the early stages and its depression at the graver stages of renal insufficiency. This approach makes it possible to determine the character, terms and significance of the participation of various organs in provision of metabolic homeostasis maintenance long before its failure and to reveal the main links in the pathogenesis of functional disorders of secretion.

RESUMO

The authors present the theoretical rationale, algorithm and results of verification of a new radionuclide method for the determination of nutritive absorption. The proposed method allows the determination of the amount of a labeled unabsorbed food ingredient without the collection and radiometry of feces, with a high degree of significance.

RESUMO

The findings of radionuclide investigation of enteric absorption in 222 newly-discovered patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, including 62 with concurrent diseases of the gastroenteric tract and hepatobiliary system, are presented. Pulmonary tuberculosis is accompanied by disturbances in the enteric absorption of fat and protein. In the absence of concurrent diseases of the gastroenteric tract and hepatobiliary system, these disturbances commonly appear to be moderate, but with concurrent diseases they can be significant or acute. As compared with the patients whose absorption is not disturbed or moderately changed, the rate of side effects caused by antituberculous drugs is higher in the patients with significantly or seriously disturbed enteric absorption. Treatment of the disturbed enteric absorption with consideration for its multifactorial causality in tuberculosis patients can contribute to a lower rate of side effects caused by antituberculous drugs and to a higher efficacy of management of such patients.

RESUMO

Clinical observations in 250 patients with different forms of tuberculosis have shown that blood autotransfusion during operations on the lungs is a safe and effective curative method allowing to considerably reduce the amount of donor blood and to maintain stable indices of central hemodynamics during operation and in the postoperative period.
